Well, we met with the surgeon, Dr. Rayburn, yesterday. I like a doctor that's confident and he surely was.

Our meeting didn't last too long but he allowed time for all our questions and actually had most of them answered before we ever got to them. We talked about different procedures and types of valves to use. The surgery is scheduled for Monday, November 26 at 8:30 am at the Arkansas Heart Hosp. in Little Rock. Tony will be in the hospital for approx. 5 days and then home recovering for approx. 4-6 weeks.

We'll have all the boys home for Thanksgiving next week! I'm so looking forward to having my family all in one place for a few days at least. The fridge is full in anticipation :)

I'll do my best to keep this updated. I may even give Tony access to it :)

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

New International Version (NIV)
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Thank you for your prayers in the days to come~

Once again, it has been a long while since I posted. I'm going to do a little something different in the weeks ahead and use my blog to post updates on my wonderful Hubby, Tony~

Some of you reading this already know that today we see a surgeon to set a date for Tony's Aortic Valve Replacement surgery. We meet with Dr. Rayburn at the Little Rock Baptist Hospital at 3:30 this afternoon.

I admit I'm a little anxious but I will remember
Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Please, join us in praying for peace and wisdom today~

Yesterday morning I was awakened by a call from Anthony, my oldest son! What a great way to start the day :) He's in SE Asia sharing the Gospel and we hadn't had contact in over a week. I'm so spoiled by emails, text msgs, tweets and phone calls that going 10 days not hearing from him was just weird!

After sipping on my coffee I got to read his updates that he also sent yesterday and then started my work day.

Here is a cute little number I out together. I LOVE orange and hot pink!

This is for a sweet little girl that celebrated a birthday recently. Now this isn't the dress she originally received. My peasant dresses are made to hit just above the knee but Mom and Dad have some well established rules that dresses are to hit below the knee. No problem~ A minor change to the pattern and wa-la!

A dress more to Mom and Dad's liking :)
She'll get it this weekend and be set!

Hope you enjoy your upcoming weekend and have the blessings of AC~

Another HOT but beautiful day in Vilonia! Hope you are all keeping cool :)

I made these dresses for some sisters as they got ready to celebrate big sissy's birthday. I love black and white paired with hot pink. I thought the two animal prints were perfect together too!

I liked this combo well enough to list it on Etsy~

Summer is in full swing and I find myself getting ready for Fall. At least that's what I'm getting ready for in the Sewing Room :)

Here's a first look at what I have in mind for my Fall Line:

The sun was setting so I opened my door and let it flood this sliver of the room. They say take advantage of Natural Lighting...

Although I may be sewing with Fall in mind the temp outside will not let me forget it's Summer. The Hubby is on his way home with the promise I will scoop his favorite ice-cream to enjoy while we spend what remains of this evening together. Enjoy yours too!

Miss Minnie

Well, I've had a couple of days running around with my hubby. Although that's cut into my work days I surely enjoyed his company :) He makes me smile~

Here is a special request I got for a lovely young lady going to Disney World for her birthday! What a pleasure it was to fill this order~

The Reverse Tie Apron top has the typical Minnie Polka-dots and Minnie applique donning her trademark hair bow.

The matching Twirl Skirt sports another Minnie applique with trademark hair bow. The fabric belt adds a pop of yellow with swirls of black ribbons that Minnie would definitely approve of :)

Sweet 16!

Who would have thunk it? My second one hitting that 'magical' age of 16! He's into wearing bow ties so his momma ~me~ made him some. Thanks to youtube once again for coming to the rescue and providing instruction. Tony or I either one had no clue as to tying a bow tie, lol!

Here is his 'maiden voyage'! No, I did not chase him down the street waving and crying... I had my slippers on which would have made that a difficult, yet funny, scene :) He texted us to ease my fears when he arrived at school safe and sound. Such a good boy!

Just one more to go now! At least we have a couple more years before I have to deal with that!

Lotus Blossom Reversible Apron Dress and Ruffled Pant Set

This is another special request from a dear customer.

When trying to decide what fabric to use we found it very easy to do our shopping online. I love www.Fabric.com! This pretty little combo was easy to put together as this site suggests fabric combos. They also provide a 'wall' to pin your choices to so you can easily mix and match :)

Far Out Floral Reversible Apron Top and Ruffled Pant Set

I love these colors! Aqua and green dots + Far Out flowers + black and white swirled pants= Fun, Fun, Fun!

The reversible Apron Top is long enough to be worn as either a tunic top or dress.

I love this fun pattern of white swirls on the black background! To me this is what makes this outfit so fun :)

I'll be posting more pictures soon. Just thought aslong as I was on a roll I'd go for two posts today!
Well, it's been a long, long time since I last posted! I've decided to get back in the swing of things and share some children's clothing I've been making.

I love to sew! So I've turned my love for sewing into a small at-home business.

This cute little number was made at the request of a 'friend' that I met through Etsy. I consider Mandy a friend as I do most of my customers, lol! At the bare minimum my customers are friendly~ Most of my sales are through my Etsy shop at www.etsy.com/shop/mindysinstitches Every once in a while I have the privilege of filling some great requests. This is one of them :)

More will follow but I really wanted to get ONE under my belt today :)
